Having worked at a construction company in Madrid, I decided to leave my home town in 2007 to study and work in different cities in Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom for several years. In 2011, I joined the staff of a large language services company and have been working as a freelance translator of scientific and technical texts since 2013. I am fully dedicated to my career.
I’m a Chemical Engineer specialising in industrial chemical processes and process control with a degree in this subject from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpretation in the combinations of English and German from the Universidad de Granada. Furthermore, I have completed a Master’s Degree in Specialised Translation at the University of Vic.
Beyond, in 2015, because I am passionate about investing, I made the decision of getting prepared for the EFPA European Financial Advisor certification exam in the renowned IEB Madrid. Already certified, in my free time I am getting prepared for the CFA certification exam.
And last, but not least, I’ve attended and continue to attend training, refresher and certification courses as well as conferences, and fairs regarding different sectors in order to broaden my knowledge, stay up-to-date and continue to be able to provide services that meet my clients’ needs.
From from my very beginnings as a translator, I have translated documents and managed translation projects from companies that operate in chemical, electrical and electronics engineering as well as the automotive, civil aviation, construction, technology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and e-commerce industries. I do direct and inverse translations for end clients working in a variety of academic disciplines such as chemical engineering, medicine and economics. Furthermore, since 2016, and increasingly often, I translate financial texts from Spanish and foreign entities.
I am a professional member of the Spanish Association of Translators, Editors and Interpretors (Asetrad), the Spanish Society of Modern Languages and take part in various translation forums and communities on the Internet.
My regular clients are language service companies, large and small businesses and start-ups from some of the above-mentioned sectors. I also collaborate with colleagues that provide services to international organisations.
